Second-in-command to Art Director Cynthia Currie, with broad responsibilities:• Brainstorming and generating concepts for stories• Art direction, including assignment of illustrations and photography• Design of features and departments, including cover stories and special packages• Information design for graphics and tables• Design of book covers, promotional materials and other Kiplinger products• Contributor to major redesigns of magazine in January 2000, January 1998, and March 1995• Art direction for special newsstand-only annuals, Kiplinger’s Mutual Funds, Kiplinger’s Stocks, Kiplinger’s Retirement Planning and Kiplinger’s Safe Investing• Redesigned The Kiplinger Letter, the company’s flagship product, for the first time in 80 years.

Worked closely with Design Director Lloyd Ziff on redesign of magazine, for which responsibilities included redrawing of logo, design of departments, drawing of new typeface used for initial caps, and generation of all Quark templates. Ongoing responsibilities after redesign included design of departments, and design assistance, layout and production of editorial well and covers.
