I chair our firms Insurance Coverage and Extracontractual Liability Team as well as our ADR Team.I am a past president of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, having been awarded, in 2022, its Lifetime Achievement Award. I was a founding Regent of the American College of Coverage Counsel and am a certified mediator in the USDC for the WDNY. I am also a past president of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel Foundation and the Erie County Bar Foundation.An educator, by trade and avocation, I have presented over 250 continuing legal education programs to local, state, national and international legal and insurance organizations and probably triple that number to insurance companies. For 37 years, I have served as an Adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at the University at Buffalo School of Law and was awarded the Ken Joyce Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022. I am licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant by the Law Society of Upper Canada. I am proud to be the first international member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers, Canada's only national organization representing the interests of civil defense attorneys. I am a past Board Member of both the DRI and Lawyers for Civil Justice.
