I have worked in BoD, management, corporate finance, and international business roles in Asia-Pacific. I held senior management positions in the US and Asian multinational corporations, as well as academia, including the deputy head of a graduate management school, board directorships, chief executive officer and chief financial officer. The industry sectors I worked in include tertiary education, retailing, manufacturing, logging, hospitality, financial services, property development, aviation and plantations. I have strong business networks in the Asia-Pacific Region and have taught over 4,000 MBA graduates in Australia, China, Mongolia and Vietnam. Some of my major business roles include being a successful Country Manager for a leading USA multinational company and was instrumental in setting up the regional supply chain as well as winning major projects, General Manager for a significant Malaysian timber company, General Manager of a public listed company, and Acting/Deputy Head of School for a major Australian university in developing, managing and delivering cutting-edge academic and executive education programs in the Asia-Pacific Region. As an academic, I have taught accounting, corporate finance, risk management, cybersecurity and international business at La Trobe University Graduate School of Management (GSM) and School of Business. I was also Acting & Deputy Head of School and MBA Program Director at the GSM. As Head of School and academic at the GSM, I travelled extensively to develop and teach our programs in Asia and Greater China. I was also responsible for developing and delivering executive education programs in Australia and overseas. My research focus is on the cross-disciplinary investigation in finance (corporate & portfolio investment), risk management (financial, cybersecurity & enterprise risk management), technology management (venture capital funding & IP) and international business (trade and investment). I have successfully supervised 12 PhD students in finance and management. I co-authored 11 reference books and over 70 peer-reviewed international conference papers and journal articles.I was the Honorary Regional Ambassador (South East Asia) for Aviation and Aerospace Australia's Trade and Export Network. I represented Aviation Aerospace Australian as a delegate on the Victorian Government trade missions to Mongolia and China in 2010, Super Trade Mission to China in 2012 and South East Asia Super Trade Mission in 2013.
