MY BOYHOOD WAR, WARSAW 44, is a limited series project based on the memoir by Bohdan Hryniewicz. Based on a true story, My Boyhood War is an account of The Warsaw Uprising of 1944 told through the eyes of Bohdan, Andrzej, Sten and Anna - four young teens with normal teen preoccupations: friends, the opposite sex, hanging out, rebelling and getting away with as much as they can. But there is nothing normal about the world around them and the dangers they face under brutal Nazi occupation - the violent subjugation and terror, the round-ups and arrests, the deportations and executions. Events force them to grow up quickly, but their youthful exuberance, their friendship, their humour, and their ability to view the very worst moments as an adventure provides a semblance of normality in the middle of the chaos and acts as a protective psychological blanket against the evil.
