About Gadi Ramadhani

I am a passionate visual artist, arts teacher, and independent curator with a background in printmaking. As the Founder and Studio Lead of KokoTEN | Studio, I am dedicated to developing art in Tanzania and promoting it to the world, particularly the Global South, through printmaking. My works explore contemporary issues, including consumer culture and society, and range from intimate gallery pieces to large outdoor public installations. Through arts education and mentoring, I support a multi-vocal artistic community, both locally and globally. Join me in creating a more vibrant and diverse art world!

    As an IBDP art teacher, my role is to inspire and guide my students in their artistic journey. I am passionate about helping them develop their creativity and skills in a variety of mediums, from traditional painting and drawing to digital media.I believe that art is not just about creating beautiful works, but also about understanding the cultural and historical context of different art movements. I strive to provide my students with a strong foundation in art history and theory, and encourage them to analyze and interpret works of art.One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is seeing my students grow and develop their own artistic style. I work closely with them to provide feedback and guidance, and help them create a portfolio of their work that showcases their unique talents and abilities.Overall, being an IBDP art teacher is not just a job for me, it is a passion. I am honored to play a role in helping my students develop their artistic abilities and appreciation for the visual arts, and to prepare them for further study in art and related fields.

    In 2018, I curated the Africa SDGs Photo Exhibition for Sahara Ventures Tanzania, which was held at the National Museum of Tanzania. The exhibition showcased a collection of photographs that captured the beauty and diversity of Africa while highlighting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each photograph was accompanied by a brief description highlighting the SDG it represented. The exhibition was a huge success, attracting visitors from all over Tanzania and beyond, particularly young people who were inspired by the photographs and the message they conveyed. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to raising awareness about the SDGs at the National Museum of Tanzania.
