I managed the data science team, was responsible for Betfair's data science product road-map and managed all stakeholder relationships with other business functions.

A dual role with Tennis Australia and Victoria University's Institute for Health and Sport (IHeS). As a part of a research collaboration between the two institutes called the Game Insight Group (GIG), my work focused on Computer Vision to develop unobtrusive data gathering methods to collect information related to athletic performance and Machine Learning for data analysis. I use Python and OpenCV for my computer vision tasks and use TensorFlow and R to build machine learning models.

The developed technologies were used to train and prepare Malaysian national athletes for major sporting competitions, such as the Asian, Commonwealth and Olympic Games. During the first 4 years of my employment at the National Sports Institute, I performed in a dual role as the tactical performance analyst for the Malaysian badminton team (prioritizing on the worlds’ number 1 ranked player Lee Chong Wei). This role involved the tactical preparation of the badminton team for major events such as the World Championships, Beijing (2008) and London (2012) Olympic Games.Key responsibilities• Head of performance analysis team for all racket sports in 2012• Lead performance analyst for Malaysia Badminton at the London Olympic Games 2012• Analyse opposing players and suggest strategies• Analyse Malaysian performance, suggest training changes, monitor and evaluate progress• Prepare monthly reports to the badminton sports science team leader.

Government institute in charge of sports science support for the national athletes of Malaysia.I Was hired out of university as a direct result of the research project ("Real-time motion tracking of a player in a field or court"). In this role I was responsible for developing a software applications for annotation & analysis of badminton video. The finalised application was used to train and prepare Malaysian badminton players for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and beyond. While testing this applications, discussions with National badminton coaches and athletes resulted in me being requested to serve as the tactical performance analyst of the Malaysian national badminton singles players at the Beijing Olympic Games despite a lack of formal training in performance analysis.
