Managing Partner in Spain of Monitor Deloitte, Deloitte's consulting practice focused on Corporate & Business Unit Strategy, Customer & Marketing Strategy, Digital Strategy, Innovation and Business Transformation , across all industrial sectors.

On top of his client management, project management and business development responsibilities, Gorka has led the roll-out of Monitor Deloitte in Spain, the merger of Deloitte’s strategy consulting with Monitor Group’s legacy. In terms of practice development, Gorka has been instrumental in the successful consolidation of Monitor Deloitte’s Go to Market, Methodologies, Intellectual Property and Talent Management capabilities.

Gorka’s consulting practice focused on Financial Services (Retail Banking and Payments industries), leading a wide range of projects for the main European and Spanish Financial Institutions. Additionally, he supported Deloitte Strategy Consulting management team on the successful creation of an integrated market leading strategy practice.

Gorka holds two roles in his current position. Firstly, he supports clients in the payments sector in their end-to-end strategic transformation programs, integrating Deloitte Spain multidisciplinary capabilities. Secondly, he leads Deloitte's Strategy, Innovation and Research teams in Spain to enhance Deloitte's position as the leading professional services firm globally.

As Manager, Gorka’s key responsibilities included business development, team management, talent acquisition and development (recruiting, training, feedback) and knowledge development, focused on Retail Banking, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Technology, Travel and Transportation. On top of that, Gorka co-led the launch of the Private Equity practice in Spain, growing from sporadically executing some commercial due diligences to being of the top three players in the Spanish market in less than 18 months.

During his tenure as Corporate CFO, Gorka led the Finance, IT, Procurement and Human Resources areas for a $140 million sales LED technology player specialized in large video screens and ITS. Gorka stepped in right after the acquisition of Imago by Quercus Equity, a Spanish Private Equity firm. He led the turnaround of the company including working capital and financing structure work-outs. He was also instrumental in the acquisition and integration of three companies in Spain, Germany and United States, the carve-out of the company’s French operations as well as on the disposal of some low value added business units. Additionally, he ran some highly demanding projects such as the recapitalization of the company through a syndicated loan or the roll-out of a completely new CRM system for the corporation.

As a Consultant (post MBA) his responsibilities included problem solving, junior client staff management and coaching, report writing, presentations delivery and client relationships development. The main industries that he covered were Energy and Utilities, Retail Banking. During his time at BCG, Gorka executed a wide variety of engagements ranging from company valuation up to commercial strategy definition and execution for leading Spanish and international corporations.

At McKinsey, Gorka was a Corporate Finance & Strategy practitioner. His responsibilities there included problem solving, support staff management and coaching, report writing, presentations delivery and client relationships development, focusing on Renewables, Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Private Banking, and Building Materials industries. He developed advanced valuation models to support several M&A transactions, as well as Value Based Management analysis, Capital Market Diagnostics and many other complex modelling techniques.
