As a treasurer for my fraternity, the Alpha Phi chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha, I have had the unique opportunity to develop and apply diverse financial management skills that have proven invaluable in my personal and professional life.During my time, I have the fraternity's finances, which include overseeing a budget of thousands of dollars, collecting dues, paying bills, and maintaining accurate financial records. In addition, I am tasked with leading my financial committee and assisting the fraternity's executive board in chartering our chapter back onto Iowa State's University Campus.One of the most challenging aspects of being a treasurer was balancing the needs and wants of the fraternity with our limited financial resources. I must prioritize spending and decide which events and activities we can afford to host. I also had to navigate unforeseen expenses and ensure we always had enough funds to cover our Chapter Assessments & National Chapter Dues obligations.Through this experience, I have gained hands-on experience with financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting. I am learning to analyze financial data and use it to make informed decisions and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Beyond technical skills, being a treasurer also taught me important lessons about leadership and responsibility. I had to be accountable to my fellow fraternity members and ensure that our finances were managed in a way that was transparent, fair, and aligned with our mission statement and goals of chartering.Overall, my experience as a treasurer for my fraternity has been incredibly rewarding in shaping the person I am today. I developed critical financial management skills that have been invaluable in my personal and professional life, and I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of responsible leadership and teamwork.

Working for my family's company allowed me to enter the workforce and learn diligence and integrity at an early age, and during many weekends and holidays, I assisted in the service of semi-tractors, changing oil, tires, filters, and general maintenance routine. As I matured older, I began to work more independently. I could do everything independently at the same level of work when a family friend assisted me. As I grew older, I became more involved with all aspects of the small-scale family trucking company and its operations. Some weekly tasks aside from more equipment maintenance were detailing the interiors and exteriors of semis-tractors, trailers, and vehicles in a timely fashion.

From the spring of 2022 to the Spring of 2023, I started my involvement in Student Government through the Residential Hall Senator position, where I assisted in being a liaison between the Student Govt. and the Inter Residential Hall Association (IRHA). As a Senator, I have joined the Rules Committee, where we interpret and enforce the constitution and bylaws, ensuring fair and impartial proceedings and making recommendations for rule changes. Aside from Rules, I also joined the Finance Committee, where we oversee and manage the budget and financial resources, make recommendations and our annual Budget Allocation hearings for various student clubs & organizations, and ensure financial transparency and accountability.Starting spring of 2023, I was elected as a United Residents Off Campus (UROC) Senator, where I rejoined the Finance Committee and was selected as the Vice-Chair. Right hand to the Finance Director and chair of the committee. Additionally, by my UROC peers, I have also been selected as the Treasurer for our constituency, where I will work with the President of the UROC constituency and focus on more advocacy and opportunities for students.

My time as a Dealership Intern within Agrivision Equipment consisted of 3 rotations through the Sales Department, where I followed each Ag and Turf salesperson and assisted with quotes of equipment as well as developing my interpersonal skills in cooperating with customers and helping to solve their problems and issues with their current equipment and how we can help as a dealership in newer equipment. My time within the Parts Department consisted of Inventory management and utilizing John Deere software programs such as DIT and Inventory Scan that allow us to navigate our parts storage and delivery to customers in a timely and orderly fashion. The Service Department allowed me more hands-on experience setting up new John Deere equipment and service calls to customers out in the field. Each department had a challenge given to Interns where we had to create a Video or a Presentation: I earned 1st place in the Sales Challenge when graded against the 15 other interns and 2nd place in the Service Challenge, where we were tasked with a Technician Hiring Video.

During my High-School summers, I worked at a family friend's farm, Dry Creek Feeders, an American Wagyu Beef Cattle cow/calf operation outside of my hometown, Hawarden, IA. During my time as an employee, I safely operated John Deere and Mccormick tractors, Kinzie wagons & augers, & semi-tractors. I also serviced these pieces of equipment on a timely rotation when required. I also cooperated alongside a team of coworkers in decision-making and tasks throughout the farm where we were in charge of caring for the; at the time, 2,000-2,500 head of cattle.
