I worked at the PICuP clinic in SLaM, a national specialist service which offers CBT for psychosis. I helped deliver CBTp under supervision of a Principal Clinical Psychologist. I also completed pre, mid and post therapy assessments.

I provided advice to clients, carers, and professionals in writing and over the phone over a range of mental health issues across the UK. I developed and updated information resources, allowing me to have the ability to adapt research to support audiences with varying needs. I also helped support volunteers development.

I provided important practical and emotional help to my caseload (five clients) bycreating and offering structured interventions whilst demonstrating active listening skills and empathy. I also helped in the care of the other client's that resided within the care home. As a Keyworker, many of my key clients lived with a range of severe mental health problems, substance abuse, and personality disorders. I was responsible for providing fortnightly key-work sessions to my key clients (regular 1-1 meetings to discuss current issues, incidents and review support, risk management, and care plans). I worked as part of a team, by communicating my client's progress to team members, and external stakeholders. I was responsible for updating my key client's care and risk plans accordingly, whilst making suggestions as an advocate for my key clients. I was able to deal with behaviour which can be challenging to support and identify patterns of behaviour to help inform change.

In this role, I applied what I learned through my bachelor's Psychology degree, and through my previous experiences of being a young carer. I provided practical and emotional help to service users and helped support senior colleagues in delivering interventions that had been created through support planning processes. I worked alongside Project Workers in providing services to an allocated number of service users. This involved carrying-out individual tasks with service users both inside the project and in the wider community. I supported service users with activities of daily living in accordance with their support plan, to enable service users to maintain their personal care to an acceptable standard; such as issues of poor personal hygiene, e.g. assisting service users to clean their rooms, to use the laundry facilities or reminding service users to shower. I also helped facilitate the work of other stakeholders such as care teams and external contractors to enable the health and wellbeing of the service users and that of the project.

Whilst studying for my BSc, I worked myself up from Sales Assistant to becoming a member of management during my final year of university. I was in charge of overseeing the Cashier team and in the absence of Floor Managers, as well as the shop floor. I organised staff and stock to enhance customer's experience in our store. My job role also included cashing up, working with merchandisers, organising new and existing lines to maximise sales, all while in constant liaison with senior managers. Skills gained from working at JD Sports include being able to achieve high sales targets, till administration, dealing with large sums of money, strong leadership skills, running an organised shop floor and being able to deal with customer complaints.
