First and foremost, I love writing code, and the challenges that come with it. This passion started at an early age, but wasn’t so obvious. Ever since first grade I used to complete my older brother’s math books during summer break out of boredom. After 5th grade I tried any and every puzzle game I could find online or in any store. I loved every challenge that forced me to think in a different way or come up with a new solution. When I found coding it combined both my desire to be challenged and the joy I feel from solving a mathematical conundrum. Software engineering is a never-ending puzzle that I am passionately engaged in solving. I believe in the power of programming to transform and improve the lives of people around the world.My first experience with coding was when the IT guy of my first company had to leave us unexpectedly. I was already handling a lot, and the obvious choice would have been to outsource it. However, I couldn’t resist the challenge and thus, with 0 coding experience, created my Frankenstein monster of a website which somehow worked and sold over 1000 tickets to our event. Fast-forward to today and I’ve already created a website for a best-selling Finnish film, worked on an artificial intelligence solution with Microsoft and diving deep into MS Azure.Prior to starting my Software Engineer studies I got my Bachelor in Business, which afterward proved useful as it helps me to understand and predict the business impact of the software I write. During my off hours I usually am working on a new personal project or taking an online course. I enjoy non-fiction books quite a lot and love reading books on productivity.
