As a research consultant I take the role of lead scientist in a variety of projects in the research and development unit of NRG.I work in the areas of nuclear energy and nuclear medicine. My focus within these fields lies primarily on molten salt reactor technologies on the one hand as well as the production of radiopharmaceutical isotopes for targeted alpha therapy.Responsibilities include:• Overseeing irradiation experiments from design to PIE and data analysis• Developing processes for production and separation of radioisotopes• Designing and executing laboratory experiments• Contributing to strategy development and research proposals

Research topic: First-row transition metal complexes as molecular electrocatalysts for water oxidation.Supervision: Dr. Dennis Hetterscheid, Prof. Dr. Lies BouwmanThe aim of my research was to synthesize and characterize new complexes based on abundant and affordable first-row transition metals and subsequently investigate their redox behaviour and their potential for water oxidation catalysis using an array of analytical and electrochemical techniques.Tasks included:• Organic and Inorganic synthesis• Working under oxygen-free conditions using Schlenk and glovebox techniques• Electrochemical studies of metal complexes and investigation of their catalytic activity• Scientific writing• Oral and poster presentation of results at national and international conferences• Collaborations with other research groups in the Netherlands and abroad• Supervision of undergraduate students in practical courses as well as bachelor and master research internships• Utilizing a wide variety of (electro)analytical techniques, including: NMR, MS, IR, UV-vis, EPR, EQCM, (R)RDE, cyclic voltammetry and online electrochemical mass spectrometry
