My primary responsibility in my current position involves testing all internal and external web and mobile applications, writing accompanying documentation, and participating in task analysis when necessary.
In 2015 I've started my career on a new path – QA. Having only my own skills and extensive working experience with various software, as well as basic knowledge of programming languages, I was tasked with testing a large and complicated management and reporting system, that had a vast number of bugs and almost no documentation. I have mastered and conducted a vast number of manual tests:- Functional (Unit, Integration, Smoke, User Acceptance, etc.),- Non-Functional (Usability, UI/UX, Localization)- Maintenance (Regression).I've been compiling upfront test cases for TDD (Test Driven Development), created the basic test plan to be performed every release cycle. I have got a working experience with multiple browsers, devices and systems (Win, macOS, Linux), basic understanding of SQL and PHP, got familiar with git and GitFlow, have gained hands-on experience with Redmine, Asana and Trello. I've managed to advance QA/Release/Support processes, and have driven the following improvements:- the settlement system has been completely redesigned and documented,- fields, filters, the number of decimal places were standardized,- the mail sending system was unified,- basic documentation on the main features and user rights was developed,- mandatory set of release testing procedures was implemented, as well as a few dangling tasks closed, that freed the system from all critical errors it had there at the time of my joining the team.
A friend of mine asked me to help build efficient customer and development team communication on their project. My task was to collect customer requirements, build development/implementation plan, align deadlines, and distribute tasks for the individual features with Dev team. I was also performing testing for all incoming changes on iPhone and Android systems. Unfortunately, I had to leave this project due to the increased workload on my primary job.
