Profile bio

About Steve Korbein

I’m a Naval Aviator transitioning from helicopters to fixed wing flying. I recently completed my ATPt ATP Jets and am excited to being pursuing flying opportunities in both the corporate and airline worlds. My path to the cockpit was not a straight one! I began my career in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer deploying twice to the Persian Gulf on the USS Ardent. After a short 2 ½ years serving abord Mine Countermeasure ships, I had the privilege of being selected for Navy Flight Training in Pensacola, FL. I selected the rotary (helicopter) track and after winging began training for my fleet aircraft, the MH-60R Seahawk. Since entering the flying world, I’ve worked my way up through the aviation arena having served as a Naval Academy Flight Instructor, Navy Safety Department Head, and finally as a SkillBridge Intern, creating training content for Joby Aviation, an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer. If you are willing to speak, my qualifications are:1. Airlines Transport Pilot - Airplane Multiengine Land.2. 2,051 hours total time as pilot. 594 hours in airplanes and 1,441 in turbine helicopters. 3. Flight Instructor – Airplane Single Engine (CFI), Airplane Multiengine (MEI).4. First Class Medical.

Listed skills include Leadership, Aviation, and Cfi.
