I provided weekly in-person and telehealth therapy for children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and trauma-based concerns. I collaborated with parents to strengthen their caregiving knowledge and skills.

Pflugerville Middle School

I built relationships with students and staff, provided mental health counseling, conducted case management services, and facilitated a student growth group for building and maintaining healthy relationships.

Oak Springs Elementary

In my second grade classroom, I facilitated morning and afternoon circles to foster a relational, fun learning environment. Applying principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), I sought to cultivate felt safety in the classroom. I collaborated with an instructional team to produce culturally responsive lesson plans. I analyzed assessment data, student feedback, and child development theories to inform instructional and relational decisions.

Summitt Elementary

I taught ELA and Science material in a dual-language classroom (English and Vietnamese). I worked with my cooperating teacher and the fifth grade team to produce engaging lesson plans that embedded opportunities for student choice and agency. I practiced differentiating instruction for our students through the inclusion of small group activities, interactive stations, and content playlists. I enjoyed supporting students’ enactment of self-regulation and relationship-building skills.

Rodriguez Elementary

In this bilingual 4th grade classroom, I applied ESL strategies to promote language development. I frequently led small-group guided instruction in mathematics with students needing targeted support. I completed running records to assess students’ reading abilities and help them select appropriate texts. My favorite accomplishment was designing and implementing a critical literature unit about elevating BIPOC voices.

Brentwood Elementary

In this 1st grade classroom, I led morning meetings to foster social emotional learning, and I carried out weekly read-alouds eliciting valuable discussions. I communicated intentionally to better know students’ whole-selves and develop meaningful relationships. Throughout the semester, I met with students individually and in small groups to assess their reading and provide mini-lessons on reading strategies. I also constructed an in-depth observation/documentation/assessment portfolio for two students.
