I lead communications efforts to share real stories of LOR’s impact in the Intermountain West. Working closely with LOR’s network of community partners in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming, I highlight the innovation, courageous change and community progress happening in our rural neighborhoods and backyards, with the goal of elevating the dialogue on livability to make it a household name.Listening first, LOR works with rural communities in the Mountain West to enhance livability and prosperity while preserving the character that makes each community unique. Today, we are working with residents and organizations in Taos County, New Mexico, and Lander, Wyoming, and we are soon opening offices in Cortez, Colorado, and Montana. Our work is place-based and driven by a community’s vision for its future. With offices across the Mountain West, our local roots help us elevate the rural voice and improve quality of life across the region. LOR hires local program officers to regularly engage with residents who have ideas for how to improve their towns. Then, LOR helps turn those ideas into action with funding and other resources.

At USApple I worked to redefine and relaunch a nation-wide, school nutrition grant program for K-12 schools, recruiting new non-profit and corporate partners, attracting celebrity sponsors and increasing the funding dollars. In addition to helping manage messaging around recalls and other crisis threats on behalf of member companies and the U.S. apple industry, I also directed and implemented research initiatives, advancing the link between apples and a healthy lifestyle. USApple is a nonprofit, member-based association comprised of and supported by individuals, companies and state/regional associations within the apple industry. We are the national voice and resource center serving the interests of American apple growers, packer/shippers, processors, marketers and other interested parties within the apple industry.

I also managed multiple public affairs campaigns for the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, responding to legislative threats and activating a national grassroots coalition of supporters -- including media and third parties. At Epic, I led all public relations strategy for the agency, managed all client relations and supervised a team of 4. In addition, I directed media relations activities for a diverse client roster spanning industries such as hospitality, health, medicine, science, transportation, conservation, architecture, education and economic development.

Founded in 1975, ASID is the oldest, largest and only multi-disciplinary professional organization for interior designers, interior design students and the manufacturers and suppliers who support the profession.While at ASID, I Implemented a public relations training program for the organization’s 40,000 members and articulated a new and controversial legislative position to members, staff and media. I also planned press conferences, secured interview and publishing opportunities and organized national media tours
