I partner with school districts, schools, teams and individuals ready to implement systems and practices that put people and community first. Consulting in the areas of Social Emotional Learning, Restorative Practices and Gallup Strengths.

As the first ever Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator, and then Director, of Atlanta PublicSchools, I was responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the districtwide SEL initiative. I was charged with ensuring that the SEL initiative is systemic,meaningful, academically aligned, culturally responsive, and reflective of the manyneeds and wants of APS's 50,000 students, as well as it's faculty and staff. AsCoordinator, I directly supervise a team of SEL coaches, and collaborate with districtwide senior leadership, school based principals and administrators as well as withmultiple district department leads to make a lasting impact on student success andwellbeing.

As an Assistant Principal I worked with the administrative team to set and monitor school wide expectations and goals, create the master calendar and evaluate teacher effectiveness using the Teacher Keys Effectiveness System. I served as Testing Coordinator, Textbook Coordinator, Safety Coordinator, Student Support Team Co-Chair and managed discipline campus wide, roles that demanded I was organized, efficient and that I communicated effectively with all stakeholders. I designed and implemented professional development and fostered team building within and across school teams through regular grade level and leadership team meetings. Additionally, I interacted with various community and district members regularly.

As an Instructional Coach, I assisted the administration in monitoring the Reading/ELA curriculum school wide. During bi-weekly grade level meetings, I assisted the teachers in identifying students’ needs, selecting appropriate interventions and progress monitoring.

As an Instructional Specialist, I supported the teachers in providing our students with high quality education that reflects the Georgia Performance Standards. My responsibilities included informal observations, modeling lessons, developing curriculum maps, analyzing school wide data, and collaborating with multiple grade levels, faculty and staff. I also served as SST Co-Chairperson, Testing Coordinator and school-wide technology support contact.

As the school Math Coach, I was responsible for facilitating staff professional development, implementing school wide programs and working with individual faculty members and grade level teams. In this capacity, I co-wrote school wide procedures, assisted in making decisions about teaching and learning, and helped organize programs that affected the entire student body. I served as school representative during district, state and community events.

As a classroom teacher at Beacon Day, I developed my own curriculum based on the needs and interests of my students, and organized field trips that supported the curriculum for the entire 5th grade.

At Western Village Academy, I worked as a classroom teacher on a departmentalized 5th grade team. I also served as a member on the discipline committee, responsible for implementing and following through with the school wide discipline program.

Along with my responsibilities as a classroom teacher, I served as a co-coordinator for Lake Elementary School’s peer counseling program. I organized various fieldtrips, school assemblies, fundraisers and was an active member of the Lake School Community Garden. In addition, I was awarded a Project Seed Fellowship for excellence in the teaching of mathematics.
