About Kori Amacker

I am a CFX artist with experience in both live action and animated features. My most recent work includes Disney's Encanto, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Glen Keane's Over the Moon. I have worked at a variety of award winning studios, from Disney Animation to ILM and Sony Pictures Imageworks. I started my industry journey at the Savannah College of Art and Design in animation, with a focus in rigging. I fell into cloth and hair more by accident than intention, but found my niche and am not going anywhere.Outside of the industry, my passions include storytelling, artistic doodling (we won't call it anything as professional as drawing), and creative problem-solving. I love to write, consult, and collaborate with others on stories, particularly flushing out ideas to completion. Attending SCAD gave me great opportunities to consult on senior films and graduate Thesis films. I am very passionate about analyzing and discussing various plots, shot compositions, animations and character designs. Although I am a CFXer at heart, I would love the opportunity to learn more about the story or development department of a studio, and exercise my love of stories, analysis, and problem-solving beyond the beauty of hair and cloth.Please feel free to reach out to me at koriamacker@gmail.com
