• Ensure adequate inventory. Procure medications and supplies at the bid price or most economical available cost. Inventory, evaluate need, set reorder points, and establish order quantities for medications including controlled substances. Submits orders to local wholesalers daily or from direct accounts as needed.• Reconcile invoices with merchandise received, code invoices for payment, and process invoices according to current Accounts Payable standards. • Work closely with vendor representatives to resolve procurement and billing problems. Reconcile inter facility borrow/loan charges on a monthly basis. Compile cost data, prepares reports, and processes interdepartmental charges.• Act in an expeditor role for back orders and utilize the authority to change vendors if primary vendor cannot supply needed medications. Communicate to staff all backorders and out of stock medications.• Address medication recall notices. Remove medication from current inventory, returns, and completes documentation as directed in recall notice. • Coordinate removal of all outdated and unusable items from inventory. Send outdated and unusable medications to selected returns company for reimbursement.

• Assist facilities maintain appropriate pharmacy inventory through optimal purchasing practices. • Runs bid compliance checks and makes recommendations for formulary changes as necessary to ensure maximum savings for contracts. • Assists facility pharmacy buyers on all product substitutions when backorders occur during the normal procurement process • Performs periodic compliance audits for CSC pharmacy distribution license • Assists internal control on price changes and resolving price discrepancies • Assist CSC in maintaining required pedigree documentation for eligible products. (if applicable) • Monitors pharmacy contract compliance reports and presents opportunities to facilities • Performs pharmacy invoice price audits. • Performs pharmacy purchasing cost analyses. • Handle process for return/destruction of all expired/recalled CSC pharmacy products • Monitor trends in facility utilization of reverse distributors. • Identify and analyze product trends by supplier and SKU • Monitor new releases (contract and or generic) and communicated to facility staff • Communicate facility purchasing issues and requests to pharmacy GPO staff • Work with pharmacy wholesaler to implement product and process improvements. • Perform other duties as assigned • Practice and adhere to the “ Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
