Construction Project Engineer at Plump Engineering

Manage construction projects and site maintenance documentation (Proposals, RFI’s, submittals, change orders, scheduling and close-out) for a client based in Los Angeles consisting of 42 sub-acute, nursing and retirement/convalescent facilities. Currently working 16 projects ranging from 26k – 656k. Projects consist of upgrades to mechanical systems, generators, boiler rooms, roofing, concrete, CMU and flooring, etc.. Manage all project documentation for concrete and framing sub-branch of the company for several other projects located at misc. hospitals, Universal Studios – Hollywood and Disneyland, CA.

Here at Plump Engineering I handle plan document (drawings and calcs) submittals to city departments including planning, building and safety, fire facilities/departments, public works, public health and sanitation for acquiring project permits for construction or architectural clients. I process proposals and change orders for the structural department. I assist with giving input to reduce construction costs, value engineering in order to make an impact on improving project timing and scheduling. I maintain the department engineer’s licenses and assist with updating and keeping licenses current. I manage general contractors during the bidding and construction phases of construction projects. Currently working on Goofy’s Sky School at Disneyland in Anaheim valued at $45,000.00 and Hughes Laboratory RTO building and equipment install in Malibu valued at $315,000.00. I process GC contracts and scope writing. I assist the GC with anything he may need assistance with regarding managing long lead items, submittals, shop drawings and scheduling.

Handled all aspects of coordination/construction documentation pertaining to projects for clients such as Walmart/Sam’s Club, CVS, Panera, Guess, FAMIMA, Wet Seal, Marcianos, Noodles & Co., RA Sushi, Fresh & Easy, True Religion, Pinkberry, Total Woman, BCBG projects consisting of ground-ups, remodels, tenant improvements, roll-outs and build-out projects throughout my 5 years at B & B Contractors.

My responsibilities included completing a high volume of contract progress and service call invoicing to include approximately 550-1250 invoices on a monthly basis totaling between 20 Million – 35 Million in annual sales for the companies six construction departments between three separate branches on a weekly basis. I managed several different invoicing procedures consistent with each client’s preference for detail. I completed and processed awarded job contracts, managed detailed job costing spreadsheets and job files for each department on a weekly basis. Maintained all on-line invoicing and mailing of such invoices in a timely manner. Assisted A/R with troubleshooting of open unpaid invoices. Reconciled all work orders coinciding with our on-line invoicing systems. Organized updated customer/client lists in the accounting system.

Handled data entry and processing of approximately 5000 outgoing and inbound invoices and inventory worksheets on a monthly basis. This position required organizing of inventory items and invoices for 13 separate warehoused accounts.
