Oversee the integrated pest management (ipm) standard operating procedures (sop) for Southern Flower in accordance with laws, rules and regulations set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Worker Protection Standards Act (WPS), Colorado Department of Agriculture (DOA), and Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED). Inspect plants for disease, pest damage/infestation, nutrient deficiencies/imbalances and report and collaborate with executive management on best course of action. Train new employees as workers/handlers of pesticides. Responsible for the maintenance of all spraying equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper storage of all pesticides. Responsible for maintaining up to date safety data sheets and record of all pesticide applications. mathematically determine correct amount of pesticides to apply to greenhouse and field based on square footage/acreage of area to be treated. Post all restricted entry interval (rei) signs in areas to be treated. Maintain thorough and up to date understanding of plant diseases/pests, proper application of all pesticides to have the lowest environmental impact, the use of bio control insects (ladybugs, predatory nematodes, trigoderma) in lieu of pesticides, and proper mixing, handling and disposal of all pesticides and pesticide containers. If all else fails, crush with shoe.
