Architectural and foundational contributions to the MZ production network infrastructure as the company transitioned to running their own infrastructure. • Developed and deployed modular and scalable datacenter design with defined units of scale, facilitating easy inventory management and growth planning and enabling effective automation. • Led the migration of the datacenter to a modular, layer3 design; introduced repeatable design patterns; devised IP schema, enabling programmatic configuration generation and IP assignments, which made it possible to fully refactor a datacenter build in 2 days. • Redesigned datacenter network infrastructure, replacing specialized hardware with commoditized gear, drastically lowering cost while improving resiliency and performance. • Advocated for and co-led the introduction of an ISP network layer, enabling efficient traffic engineering, better utilization of transit capacity, coherent peering strategy, and cost-effective deployment of DDoS mitigation, while achieving 71% Capex savings and 54% Opex savings. • Advised service owners and collaborated on design of new services; represented network engineering on the engineering architecture review board and change review board.
