My name is Kory Johnston and I am a graduate of Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business. I majored in Sales & Business Marketing with a Minor in General Business. Through education and experiences I have developed many transferable skills. My time in the Haworth College of Business has been very productive. I have taken classes for sales and marketing and for almost all other areas of business as well. This has helped me learn to be a hard worker and become a well rounded business professional. The classroom has also given me opportunity to network with many other business professionals including professors and other students. This networking inspired me to be more involved on campus. I was a member of the Sales & Business Marketing Association. This is the largest student run organization in the Haworth College of Business. SBMA develops transferable skills in sales and other areas of business. This organization has helped me interact professionally with employers and motivates me to continue to develop in sales and marketing. My previous work experience has greatly improved my communication skills. As a client services intern for Yager & Associates I was given the task of acquiring and recording information from potential clients during their first appointments. This internship also consisted of numerous phone calls with clients and potential clients as well as updating and maintaining client information in a computer database.
