In my role as a Technical Support Engineer for MuleSoft I wear many hats in order to support our customers APIs created with with our product. My focus is on resolving issues as quickly as possible to get our customers out of impact and afterwards investigating/replicating the issue for root cause analysis. Some examples of the primary subjects I support on a daily basis are:- Troubleshoot MuleSoft Java runtimes hosted in AWS, GovCloud, and on-premise environments- Production outage support for high severity and high visibility issues- Utilize browser developer tools to inspect network traffic to troubleshoot Anypoint Platform issues- Thread/Heap dump analysis to identify hung threads and memory leaks- Leverage Postman to troubleshoot APIs and automate various tasks- SAML/OpenID Integration troubleshooting- Analyzing backend code in GitHub to understand undocumented behavior- Work with Engineering too resolve identified incidents and platform bugs- Creating internal and public KB articles In addition to the direct support I provide to our customers, I enjoy learning new technologies and building tools for Support enablement. Some examples are:- Developing enhancements for a Chrome extension utilized by fellow support engineers for improved ticket management- Utilizing JavaScript in Postman pre-request/test scripts to automate tasks and reduce human error- Python / Shell scripting- Utilizing generative AI to more quickly learn foreign topics - Testing new technologies and implementing its usage in my professional and personal life when reasonable
