In the capacity of a highly enthusiastic and academically proficient Masters student in Wireless Communications at University of Oulu, I am eager to contribute my competencies towards state-of-the-art research and development engagements, while enhancing my high-tech experience and exposure.I wish to introduce myself as a talented and confident multidisciplinary professional in Engineering and Management fields specialized in the areas of Telecommunication, Wireless Communication Systems, Business Process Management (BPM), Business Analysis, Project & Programme Management, Digital Transformation and Enterprise Information Systems (such as CRM, OSS & BSS).I attained a solid foundation for telecommunication field after passing my Bachelor’s Degree in ‘Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering’ with a First-Class pass from ‘University of Moratuwa’, which is considered as the top technical university in Sri Lanka. Further, my current master’s studies at Oulu University has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental principles and novel industry trends of wireless communications. While strong theoretical foundation is built with subjects such as wireless networks, digital communications, signal processing, etc. we were provided with opportunities to gain hands-on experience with the use of tools such as Machine/Deep Learning, Data Mining, MATLAB, Simulink, etc. to design and analyse wireless communication systems.After completing BSc degree, I joined Sri Lanka’s incumbent telco operator, SLT as an engineer and started progressing on my telecommunication career. While SLT is getting transformed from a traditional telco operator to a modern ICT solutions provider with the introduction of new technologies such as FTTx & 4G LTE, new IT systems such as BSS, OSS, CRM & ERP and new concepts such as Digital Transformation, I was able to contribute to such transforming exercises in various capacities such as business/system analyst, process engineer/designer and project/programme evaluator.My short term objective is to acquire necessary knowledge, skills and exposure on developing robust, cost-effective, energy-efficient, scalable, flexible and sustainable communication systems and services for the next generation powered by novel innovations such as FTTx, Cloud Computing, NFV/SDN, 5G/6G, IoT, etc. focusing on wired and wireless network infrastructure, services and applications. In the long run, I expect to contribute to uplift world's telco infrastructure in order to accelerate digital transformation journey of the globe.
