The photographs, including mine, were of the now abandoned greenhouses and roses of the Sakai, Oishi, and Endo families of Richmond, CA. NPS provided historic artifacts and the JAC contributed historic background and Art of Gaman. Donna Graves, historian, wrote the historic narratives.

Formerly Quality Assurance Officer for EBMUD's water and wastewater laboratory maintains its role as a cutting edge generator of high-quality legally defensible and scientifically-sound measurement based information for making regulatory, process-control, and environmental decisions by: Maintaining certification;Coordinating annual QC documentation programs (detection limit and control limit confirmations, national Performance Test Studies, and thermometer calibrations); Performing internal audits; Conducting on-going monitoring of daily QC records; Responding to client concerns; Reviewing and analyzing large data sets;Programming SQL searches for data mining; Editing and recommending for approval all Standard Operating Procedures; Authoring of all QA and Safety SOPs; Chairing the laboratory safety committee as the Chemical Hygiene Officer;Responding to safety issues as necessary;Conducting training sessions on QA and safety; Representing the laboratory at District and public meetings; Preparing articles for publication and presentations at national and State conferences; Participating in appropriate professional activities
