Koshy John is a Windows and VMware Team Lead at IBM. Colleagues describe them as "When I 1st became a Service Manager at IBM, at handover my predecessor said: a) Among the issues needing attention is the service to the customer's European organisation. b) In your favour for that, you'll have a really super guy named Koshy working for you. These words were prophetic. Koshy was crucial to the success in turning the European service not just from amber to green; a couple of years later in a review the customer business partner fed back: a) The service the Europeans now get is the best in the company. b) The key person in that service excellence is Koshy. Koshy's key strengths: 1) Excellent technical skills: That isn't just his knowledge and experience of the technologies he supports; very important is the considered, deliberate, methodical and systematic approach he takes. Having heard him more than once sensibly comment, "More haste, less speed", Koshy walks what he talks with his 'think twice, action once' approach. 2) Team working: Koshy has a great work ethic and is very much a team player understanding the importance of not just looking after his area of responsibility. He also tries to be proactive in looking for ways he can help others. He is an articulate person with excellent breadth of vocabulary and grammar in English. He listens and puts his communications skills to good use working with others. 3) Customer focus: Koshy 100% gets that the customer puts his lunch on the table. In the example mentioned above re service delivered to the users in mainland Europe; when I 1st took that role we had some very vocal critics in that part of the customer's organisation. Koshy's focus in tackling issues was laser-like. He again used his communication skills to great effect to keep the customer informed of progress and of planned next steps. Koshy was key in turning around the critics to be advocates of IBM. On a couple of visits I did with the customer Service Manager to the customer sites in Spain, Nertherlands and Belgium, we received consistent gushing feedback on how highly Koshy was regarded, respected and admired. 4) Character: He is the personification of reliability and dependability. When Koshy says he will do something you can consider with granite solidity that he will deliver within his stated time frame. All of us who worked with Koshy learned very quickly that he could be trusted implicitly. He was a senior member of the team he worked in at that time and led in the best way possible; by presenting and example of unrelenting professionalism and integrity. His popularity with colleagues and customers is testimony to another simple point re Koshy; he builds excellent relationships with his personable nature. I was once given a comment by the Service Owner in the customer organisation; "If it wasn't for Koshy, you would spend 5 days a week handling European customer escalations instead of only spending 1/2 a day a week working on Europe." I expect Koshy to have a very successful career." and "Koshy is massively respected within IBM and also by clientele. He compounds excellent technical expertise with a highly professional, methodical style of work. He is an effective listener and communicator who builds solid relationships with those who he encounters. Koshy is a committed team worker universally trusted for his reliability and dependability.
