About Kosta Peric

I’m a technologist, and my interests lie at the point of intersection of technology, finance and innovation.With over a decade at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and as Chair of the Mojaloop Foundation (mojaloop.io) and board member at the Interledger Foundation (Interledger.org) , my mission is to increase financial inclusion by deploying inclusive digital instant payment systems in low-to-medium income countries across the world. I’ve created the “Level One Project” initiative (leveloneproject.org) to guide stakeholders in building inclusive, secure, affordable and resilient digital platforms.Prior to the Gates Foundation, I was Chief Architect at SWIFT and oversaw the design and deployment of what is still today the current SWIFT system and network, connecting 12,000 banks and carrying trillions of dollars per day. I was also SWIFT’s first Head of Innovation and the co-creator of the Innotribe programme that has been referred to as the first truly multi-stakeholder and global initiative to enable collaborative innovation in financial services. I’m the author of “The Castle And The Sandbox,” a book explaining how to foster innovation in established systems and companies.
