Minnesota Teamsters Service Bureau is a nonprofit organization that provides career services to Minnesotans who are eligible for the Dislocated Worker Program. I encouraged a dynamic job search by sharing my knowledge, experience, and many success stories and assisted clients with identifying their own motivators. I successfully helped over 350 laid off individuals during job transition. I worked with clients to develop their individual employment plan, which mapped out their path to reemployment. I created the Advanced LinkedIn workshop, conducted monthly orientation sessions, recruited clients through job fairs and community outreach, and built relationships with employers. Accomplished several process improvement projects and served as the program’s trainer on state and federal policies. Developed state-wide training curriculum and materials on the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program for employment counselors. Presented annual training sessions throughout Minnesota on topics that were important to counselors. Conducted monthly webinar sessions to update counselors on federal law and state policy changes. Administered the federal retraining program TAA to workers laid off through trade implications. Reviewed and assessed TAA applications for compliance to federal law and state policies. Maintained a case load of over 400 dislocated workers. Approved employment plans and training requests, created and issued school purchase orders, and processed invoices.
