As a Senior Public Policy leader, I had the privilege of representing the company in high-level discussions with government officials, elected members, and other stakeholders. During my tenure from January 2019 to January 2023, I worked diligently to develop and execute strategic approaches that furthered the company's goals in public policy.In this capacity, I closely monitored legislation and regulatory matters affecting Meta, providing valuable insights and advice to the company regarding emerging policy challenges. My role included articulating Meta's position on key policy issues through public presentations and engaging with diverse audiences both internally and externally.Working collaboratively with other team members, I contributed to the development of public policy positions and forged strong partnerships with industry stakeholders and organizations, including Access Now, Article 19, USAID, UNESCO, OIF, UNHCR, and UNSMIL. These alliances were instrumental in advancing Meta's policy objectives in the region.Throughout my time at Meta, I had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with numerous high-profile individuals, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers, heads of regulators, and political and civil society leaders. I also advised various Meta teams on public policy matters, guiding the development of products, services, and policies in alignment with regional requirements.As a key coordinator, I brought together internal and external players across countries and time zones, ensuring the seamless progression of our team's objectives and the successful representation of Meta's interests in the Africa, Middle East, and Turkey region.

Served as a board member for several areas of a non-profit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces of the Internet, ensuring the network's stable and secure operation.▪ Provided leadership to the Board of Directors while holding the following positions, Chair of the Organizational Effectiveness Committee, Member of the Finance Committee, Member of the Board-Governments Working Group, and Member of the Internet Governance Working Group.▪ Partnered with the Chief Executive Officer and his team to achieve the organization's mission, develop chair meeting agendas, discuss issues confronting the organization, and strategically set policies in a dynamic non-profit setting.▪ Monitored performance and outcomes against the strategic plan by encouraging the Board's role in strategic planning and providing direction and oversight to meet targets.▪ Stayed abreast of the organization’s financial situation by reading and analyzing financial statements and reports ( $150M Operation budget and $314M New TLD Fund ).

As Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for Google in the MENA region from April 2012 to December 2015, I was responsible for developing and leading public policy campaigns across a wide range of areas impacting Google and the internet. Key issues I tackled included technology innovation, e-commerce, Internet governance, privacy, and intellectual property.In this role, I engaged directly with politicians and policymakers, building a robust network of trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other stakeholders to support policies that fostered a user-focused online environment and maintained an open Internet. I represented Google externally with governments, regulators, and third parties, as well as at public conferences and industry forums.As a crisis communications manager, I served as an on-the-record spokesperson on complex issues, particularly regarding the public policy or legal matters. I collaborated closely with a cross-functional team of Google employees across the MENA region. I coordinated with the Global Public Policy team to advance policy positions that benefitted our users.Additionally, I managed the MENA budget, handling tasks such as budget preparation, supplier management, purchase order creation and approval, and invoice approval. I also led the Internet Governance MENA Strategy and activities, actively participating in events and organizations like the IGF, ICANN, and ITU to ensure Google's interests were well-represented in the region.

AFRINIC (African Network Information Centre) is the regional Internet registry (RIR) for Africa, responsible for the allocation and management of Internet numbers (IPv4, IPv6 & ASNs) resources.AFRINIC operations are overseen by a Board of Directors (BoD) elected by members on a regional representation basis as defined by its bylaws. Once appointed to the board members represent and work for the whole African region.

The Internet Society serves a pivotal role in the world as a global leader on Internet policy, technical, economic, and social matters, and as a strong supporter of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). I supported the organization’s mission to promote the development of the Internet as global technical infrastructure, a resource to enrich people’s lives, and a force for good in society, the board provides strategic direction, oversight, inspiration, support, and advice. The board’s role is strictly limited to governance, which is by definition, the creation of policies, and continuous monitoring of their proper implementation. In consultation with the CEO, the board sets up strategic goals and helps devise a high-level strategic action plan to reach them. Once the goals and plans are approved, the board oversees management’s implementation and measures the results of the actions taken in accordance with the plan.

Tunisie TradeNet manages a data-processing network that connects the various interveners in the foreign trade procedures in Tunisia (Banks, Administrations, Customs...). The project aims to facilitate foreign trade processes, ensure traceability, and reduce the goods' time of stay at the ports.
