Koya is a specialist of strategic, entrepreneurial business implementation and management in TMT and insurance industries. As Founder & CEO since 2015, he's been driving HealtheeOne, a healthcare x IT startup founded in his hometown, Fukushima. Also, he was one of founding members at Midokura, a global, high-tech startup for virtualization technologies. He led corporate development, business development, finance, legal and any other strategic matters: he administrated global expansion of business operations in North America, EMEA and APAC, and accomplished closing fund raising rounds and business partnerships. Koya closed US$20M Series B round in 2016 and has raised US$40M+ in total over financing rounds for this tech startup founded in Tokyo.For 12 years at ITOCHU Corporation (TYO:8001), he initiated various entrepreneurial projects. Particularly, he successfully led a spin-off project on a billion-dollar business division to be a subsidiary (currently, CONEXIO Corp.), which then went IPO on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TYO:9422). Also, he played the key role with NTT Docomo Inc. to launch and expand a Docomo's after-sales service: designing a "micro-insurance" product for wireless devices, and managing re-insurance scheme. This micro-P&C-insurance service successfully achieved over 30 million active subscribers in 5 years from service launch.He was born in Iwaki-city of Fukushima in Japan, and has a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from Keio University in Tokyo. He also holds an MBA from HEC School of Management in Paris.
