I work to promote the North Country National Scenic Trail. I manage the website, social media accounts, marketing and outreach materials, and brand information. I support volunteers from 30 Chapters across eight states, and I am the editor of the North Star quarterly membership magazine.

The Strategic Interdisciplinary Research Office (SIRO) was a research administration unit of Penn State University under the Office of the Vice President for Research. SIRO provided administrative support to research faculty for large-scale grant proposals, such as those solicited by the National Institute of Health, the National Science Foundation or the U.S. Department of Defense. We assisted faculty with budget construction and administration, compliance with proposal requirements, and more. As a graphics specialist, I provided support to grant proposal development through graphic design, technical editing, and data collection and organization. I also maintained our office's website.

I was the public information specialist for the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division within the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. For the programs within our division, I performed a wide variety of tasks including graphic design projects, media relations and public outreach. The division's regulatory programs and units included radiation, solid waste, remediation, hazardous waste, materials management, community involvement and more. I worked with over 30 staff members across the division, as well as staff in the Water Quality Control Division and on the health side of the department. Noteworthy projects included editing and producing annual reports, designing and producing of numerous infographics, and many media pitches and interviews with print, online, television and radio journalists.

I worked alongside the communications department, recreation planners, cartographers and field offices throughout Colorado to develop website content for the 60+ National Landscape Conservation System land units within Colorado Bureau of Land Management (BLM) jurisdiction. I collected photos and facts for each protected unit in the state. (At the time, this conservation system included three national conservation areas, five wilderness areas, 50+ wilderness study areas, two national scenic and historic trails, and one national monument.) I proofread, organized and published over 60 new webpages with updated information on each land unit, including flora and fauna, acreage, access and recreation opportunities. Much of this information did not exist online prior to this publishing.I also aided in the reorganization of the Colorado BLM intranet (internal) by creating a state-wide photo archive, and organizing contact information and other reference materials.

I committed to and completed one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) with Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC). This position was placed in the Colorado Springs regional office and supervised by the Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA) in Denver. MHYC is a youth conservation corps that focuses on environment, education and employment for young adults aged 18 to 24. During my year of service, I worked to build capacity of the Colorado Springs office through outreach material design and production, social media management, job fair presence, grant writing and fundraising, community involvement, staff education and more. Through this work, the overall goal was to decrease poverty among young adults in the Southern Front Range.

I directed and edited video and audio shoots for various journalism and public relations faculty and students in the university's on-campus media center. I directed set placement, sound and lighting adjustments, camera management, recording and editing.

I worked on a team of interns and radio personnel to promote concerts and other events for Indianapolis radio stations X-103 and Q-95, as well as the Bob & Tom Show. Work included promotion booth management and public outreach.
