The Full-Stack Developer program is a full-time 6-month course and project-based learning environment to develop the necessary technical and essential skills and abilities to step into a full-stack developer role. - Technical Skills: JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, ExpressJS, NodeJS and MongoDB. - Essential Skills: Agile Development, Scrum Methodology, Critical Thinking, Systems Thinking, Computational Thinking, Creative & Visual Thinking, Communication & Collaboration.Project 1: Created a text-based interactive game using HTTP API’s with JavaScript, Node and ExpressJS. “Welcome to the Jungle” has the player, an aspiring Zookeeper, tasked with locating a specific animal in one of the zoo’s five animal habitats, using up to 3 clues. Once the animal has been located, or the Zookeeper runs out of guesses, they may select a new animal until all the zoo’s 20 animals have been located. This game was played in the terminal by cURLing to various endpoints and receiving instructions, information, and clues. Project 2: Working in a team of 4 to create a full-stack application with CRUD to address one of the UN’s Sustainable Development goals. “Minerva Mentoring”, a site to advance Gender Equality connects female mentors with mentee’s pursuing STEM careers, was developed using the MERN stack. It included user authentication with Passport, and image uploading with Cloudinary. Project 3: Working in a team of 3 to create a full-stack application with CRUD, following Agile/Scrum processes with weekly sprints and daily stand-ups. “Culinary Collective”, a site to help home-based and commissary kitchens market and sell their product to a broader audience. This project was developed with React and Firebase for authentication, database, and storage.
