Hi, I’m Kieran. I’m an apprentice software developer from Bridgend. I currently work for ONS as a Network 75 Student at the University of South Wales.As a degree apprentice, I aim to develop my skills and pick up as much as I can, so I can become a more proficient developer. I am a highly motivated and self-driven person, which goes hand in hand with my busy career and lifestyle. I enjoy the problem-solving side of being a developer and love the thrill when a solution finally comes together. Being challenged by a task is my bread and butter, and learning from these tasks is important for me.In my background, I have experience working with databases and reporting technologies, which I think has provided a good foundation for my career as a developer. I have worked with a range of end users (largely non-technical) to produce requirements for reports, then develop those reports in an agile way.I have experience working within teams, being able to share my ideas and knowledge, helping others understand technical problems and being able to lead and work within scrum workflows.As a developer, I have worked on a variety of projects including API-driven web applications, interactive statistical dashboards and periodically executed lambda scripts. I have worked on projects throughout their development cycle, from initial requirements scoping and planning, right through to deployment and maintenance.As I continue to progress in my career, I’d like to become a more knowledgeable and well-rounded developer, being able to spread my knowledge to others and become a key developer within any development team.Please feel free to get in touch.

Some of my daily tasks include: - Working with stakeholders to understand solution requirements,- Designing new tools and enhancements to existing applications- Demonstrating my work to members of my team and stakeholders to get an understanding of how I can improve,- Collaborating with student members of the team to provide them with necessary assistance,- Contributing constructive feedback to code reviews,- Containerising and Deploying solutions to cloud environments,- Managing cloud infrastructure to maintain costs under the guidance of my tech lead.In this role, I work with a range of technologies including but not limited to Python, Flask, Streamlit, AWS, Docker, REST and GraphQL APIs.
