I am a Child Advocate at the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights, where I support the best interests of unaccompanied and separated immigrant children in detention and removal proceedings. I joined the Young Center in March 2024, after working as a Senior Legal Representative at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for over eight years.At the IRC, I obtained the partial DOJ accreditation that enabled me to provide immigration assistance to refugees, asylees, and immigrants in Los Angeles. I prepared and filed various immigration forms, conducted consultations, delivered public workshops and information sessions, and represented the office in a learning collaborative on legal advocacy. I have a J.D. from Loyola Law School with a concentration in Immigrant Advocacy, an M.A. in International Studies from the University of San Francisco, and a B.A. in International Relations and French from the University of California, Davis. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and have published a research paper on the history and politics of Peru.I am passionate about helping people navigate the complex and often challenging immigration system in the U.S., and protecting and empowering the most vulnerable populations in the world. I strive to uphold the values of integrity, service, and innovation in my work, and to leverage my skills and expertise in legal advocacy, and diversity and inclusion to serve the mission of the Young Center and the IRC.
