We also synthesized various novel non-natural flavanone compounds using unit operation principles like Liquid-liquid extraction, vaccum filtration and flash chromatography technique. A bio-chemical assay was developed to screen these compounds for their anti-microbial efficacy with high accuracy Through this study we have demonstrated that combinatorial synthesis of non-natural flavanones can identify novel antimicrobial agents with activity against bacteria and fungi but with minimal toxicity to human cells.
