I helped shift the mindset within Walmart's Spark Business on how to approach identity verification (KYC) to reduce digital identity fraud. Spark (drive4spark.walmart.com) is Walmart's gig-based delivery platform for its stores. Trust in digital identity is a vital for Walmart to operate in compliance to state and federal laws.During my time at Walmart, I led Spark's integration with Persona (withpersona.com) to combat evolving fraud tactics, including nascent Gen AI attack vectors. I also did 0-1 development on a new product to manage all trust & safety incidents within Spark.

Dory.app is a startup aiming to make both virtual and in-person meetings more engaging and interactive. In this role, I was the product management lead for Samsung Daily in North America. Samsung Daily (previously known as Bixby Home) is app that is accessible by swiping right on the home screen on all Samsung Galaxy and Note devices, and has a global TAM in the hundred millions. Due to the ease of access and large distribution, Samsung Daily is considered a very strategic service within Samsung and an important asset to help partners reach new audiences. Main competitors to Samsung Daily are the Apple's "Today" view and the Google "Discover" feed. I worked in a product manager/senior manager hybrid role to drive product definition and oversaw day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted team across a number of strategic initiatives within Samsung. My teams' impact affected many familiar consumer brands; such as Bixby, Samsung VR, and Galaxy Apps. I acted in a dual role while helping Samsung (MSCA) build its convergence platform to enhance the value-add and interoperability of owning multiple Samsung products. My team's directive was to innovate around experiences for creating, consuming, and sharing media (both personal and public). I spent half my time as a technical product lead, responsible for managing a multi-discipline, multi-location team through several product release cycles. On the technical side, I was the architect for full stack functionality that my team delivered, following agile processes. I also owned the delivery of these features through QA and release cycles. On the product side, I handled prioritization and management of numerous features and products, including the building of business models, product strategy and market research, as well as defining the roadmap for my and other teams to follow.I spent the remainder of my time as an individual contributor, building principal Android pieces of the product features I owned. In this role, I mentored junior developers and was the main code reviewer for contributions to our Android code base. Some of the products and features that I owned during this time were: - A product to share HD media (photos and videos) from mobile platforms to TV platforms, without location constraints on the mobile and TV device (i.e., they do not have to be nearby or on the same network). - The consumer-facing aspects of a mobile app that aggregated content from a variety of sources (video, photos, user-generated content, etc) and the ability to cast that content to nearby TVs. - Improved TV experiences for consuming user-generated photo content (such as Google Photos or Instagram) - A permissions-based messaging and content sharing platform, packaged as an SDK for inclusion in other Samsung applications or devices - Prototype of a messaging platform with open API for partner services (such as payment or media sharing)

Cabin was named by the Google Play editorial staff as one of the "Best Family Apps of 2013"As a lead Android engineer in Cabin from the onset of the startup, I have designed the architecture or have been crucially involved in the implementation, of almost every part of the app. Some of my more complex contributions include:- Designing an efficient and scalable, synchronization and content refresh model within the client, including offline caching of new and existing content in volatile network conditions- Inventing battery-sensitive and accurate algorithms for persistent location tracking- Modelling of user generated data to support generic handling of heterogeneous permutations (e.g., general and private messaging, various types of to-dos)- Establishing a general pattern for server communication including session management, error handling, response parsing- Formulating the hierarchical system to categorize and optimize the drawing of common UI elements within the latest activity UIAs the project lead of the iOS port for Cabin, I was responsible for the planning and delivery of a feature-complete version of Cabin for iPhones/iPod that complemented the feature set available for Android. I identified, capitalized on and monetized an online niche to syndicate iTunes' free offerings in a more user friendly method. Through promotion and understanding of online culture, I grew my worldwide audience to over 65,000 RSS subscribers, over 1300 followers on Twitter and over 2500 fans on Facebook. I co-founded this online venture to address a pressing need for grassroots peer feedback of internships and coop placements at Canadian universities.
