The grant was used to pay for school fees, provide school supplies, and create a girl’s club in my local community in northern Senegal.Created training materials used to teach over 100 youth and adults in improved agricultural techniques including soil improvement, bee ecology, and tree planting. These trainings increased local knowledge and skills regarding food production, food diversity and environmental sustainability.As Matam Work Zone Coordinator responsibilities included collecting and editing regional Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) activity reports into a functional document that was submitted to the regional Senegalese government officials.As Matam Monitoring and Evaluation Representative I was trained in monitoring and evaluation techniques by staff to facilitate more accurate and timely reporting efforts by PCVs within my region of northern Senegal.
