In my current role, I manage and oversee all of WCR's activities in Asia and Africa. This includes partnership building, project development and management, budget approval and supervising of locally based staff.

I sat on a committee which seeks to promote agricultural biodiversity through the different programs of Slow Food USA. Currently, we review applications of food products to US Ark of Taste, a promotional vehicle. We work with regional governors of Slow Food USA and with local chapters by giving them technical expertise or other assistance.

Ran and coordinated a USDA-FAS funded training workshop in Kabul, Afghanistan for Afghan agricultural extension agents. Developed the workshop program with other US based partner organizations, organized technical trainers, created workshop and training materials, coordinated with Afghan partners, compiled reports for funder.

I researched the genetics of crop domestication and evolution. Specifically, I focused on the domestication of chile pepper, Capsicum annuum. In addition to the molecular laboratory work, I planned and coordinated research activities, wrote grants, and characterized plant accessions.

IAD 162 - Tropical Ecology and Sustainable Agricultural Development. Coordinated course logistics (lodging, transportation, risk management), acted as a liaison between the University and Panamanian partner institutions, developed curriculum components, instructed in both the classroom and in the field.
