As Director, I was brought in to envision and create a development department in a nonprofit that had no previous fundraising infrastructure. I provided executive direction to professional and lay leadership teams while defining strategy to position our organization for a more sustainable future. This involved building strong community partnerships, training my teams to identify and cultivate potential donors, and establishing opportunities for expansion.The past three years have been an incredibly busy time for us. We’ve accomplished a lot and I’m so proud of our teams and how they’ve stepped up to execute. A few of the things I’ve guided my teams to achieve include:NEW PASSION & COMMITMENT ►We generated more than $600K in 2017 by empowering community leaders in dozens of cities to plan and execute events. Our success has already opened the door for 12 additional city-based events for 2018.INNOVATIVE CAMPAIGNS ►We increased annual campaign dollars $500K and raised and additional $900K through engaging new strategies that included crowd sourcing and other creative plans to involve younger donors and those of modest means.COMITTMENT TO COMPLIANCE ► I collaborated closely with our Finance, IT, and donor services departments to transform our office from cash-based to a pledged-based accrual system. Transition went smoothly and we are now in compliance.

Two years after leaving JEWISHColorado to serve as the President and CEO of Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, I received a request for me to return. The organization was going through a significant transition and my former colleague called out for assistance. I was happy to help and assist in bringing vision, passion, and my experience to guide professional and lay leadership teams. After two years we built strong community building and fundraising systems to empower both a prosperous future and engaged membership.

I was recruited for my reputation as a transformational strategist to reimagine and rebuild antiquated fundraising approaches. Specifically, my goal was to develop powerful multi-faceted initiatives to meet demographic needs and 21st century donor trends. I recruited and mentored a team of 34 while managing and implementing all campaign and fundraising initiatives and operations. I also worked closely with Executive Officers, our Board, and stakeholders organization-wide to overhaul our fundraising model and allocation process.Over the two years I served as CEO we achieved quite a lot. Some highlights include:ENGAGING FUTURE LEADERS ► I conceived and executed a plan to engage future leaders and donors by creating a young adult department and council. This increased leadership in our target population from 1 to 25+ and positioned Dallas to become one of the largest represented groups in the nation.DEVELOPED WOMEN AS LEADERS ► After uncovering data that predicted the next generation of wealth transference will likely fall to women, I created a strategy to develop women as leaders and philanthropists. This involved building the Jewish Women’s philanthropy center from the ground up. The center is now recognized as the backbone of fundraising and leadership.DONOR DEVELOPMENT SKILLS TRAINING ►To train and develop leadership in attaining this skillset, I implemented the “Kramer Institute.” I’m happy to report that 5 graduates of my program are now currently CEOs in the Federation system.ANALYTICS & TRANSPARENCY ► I developed a new Campaign Dashboard to ensure campaign transparency. In addition, I established written guidelines and parameters around corporate sponsorships to avoid unequal treatment of donor/sponsorship opportunities.

After several years and a number of promotions, I arrived at the Chief Development Officer position and was challenged to plan and implement an annual campaign producing approximately $13M from 6.2K donors. In addition, I was charged with managing the integration of our capital campaign and annual campaign solicitations. I worked closely with lay leadership to guide two Boards and four campaign committees while coaching and motivating our development team of 12.I was involved in many initiatives throughout my time with this organization. A few of my favorite include:GROWING ANNUAL CAMPAIGN ► By initiating collaborative partnerships with our marketing and planning departments, we established some new strategies for growth. Together we increased the number of donations 7 years in a row.FACULTY ASSIGNMENT ► I loved my time teaching for UJC Continuing Professional Education program. I taught “Fundraising 101” to new professionals and met some fantastic and passionate future leaders.WOMEN’S PHILANTHROPY ► One of the roles I progressed through was as the Women’s Philanthropy Center Director. I was able to increase women’s endowments 92% and added 700 new donors to our 2004 campaign.
