Assist in building and implementing the organization’s business development strategy through prospect research, solicitation efforts, and maintaining the customer relationship management (CRM) database. As the sole employee for the state of Iowa, I was responsible for providing educational opportunities, support, and social service referrals to the 30,000 Iowans living with epilepsy and their families. I lead and guided the Community Council, made up of 12 volunteers, through their quarterly meetings and frequent conference calls. Continually, I collaborated and built relationships with statewide healthcare professionals and social service organizations. I conducted seizure education and first-aid presentations to a variety of audiences and provided advocacy efforts by supporting constituents with individual educational plans (IEPs), pharmaceutical and financial concerns, and lobbied for state and federal funding for the organization.
