Evaluation of studies and preparation of draft Registration Reports (dRRs) in the area mammalian toxicity, identity, physicochemical properties and analytical methods of active substances and plant protection products acting as zonal Rapporteur Member State in the context of application for national or EU uses.Evaluation of studies and preparation of Draft Assessment Reports (DARs) in the same area as above for the approval of active substances used in Plant Protection Products acting as Rapporteur Member State in view of the EU peer review program. In addition, commenting on DAR's and participation in expert meetings in mammalian toxicology and teleconferences at EFSA, Parma, Italy. Responsible for managing the above projects to keep deadlines (planning, organizing, motivating and controlling the team's work and contact with applicants, external experts, EU Commission, EFSA etc.).Evaluation of studies for the classification and labelling of active substances and plant protection products in regard to their toxicological and physicochemical properties.Meetings with industry representatives to exchange information and to provide advice andguidance regarding those aspects of the application which fall within the area mammalian toxicity,identity, physicochemical properties and analytical methods.Quality check of national authorizations, classification and labelling documents. Areas of responsibility were veterinary drug residues in food, food industry disinfectants, food contact materials, flavorings, food additives, endocrine disruptors and bisphenol A. Experiences included typical tasks you perform in a government agency (e.g. responding to citizen inquiries, ministerial services, managing control projects, supervision of control staff, cooperation with other ministries, contact to industries and other Member States, EU law elaboration and implementing).Drafted authoritative guidance to inspectors necessary to accomplish compliance/ enforcement/ regulatory objectives related to disinfectants, food contact materials and flavorings. Administrative tasks related to the authorization of disinfectants used in the food industry.Participated in Standing Committee (DG SANCO) meetings and in the EU Commission working groups of scientific, regulatory and legal experts to develop new or revised regulations. Project manager for control projects related to the areas of food contact materials, flavorings and additives with a team of analytical chemists from Technical University of Denmark and national food inspectors responsible for taking samples.Responsible for the scientific advice and administrative tasks related to a food contaminant during a period with high political focus on the substance leading to a national ban. The tasks included ministerial services (answering questions from opposition, writing reports, speeches and press releases) and contact with the media and industry.

Completed specialized courses in toxicology. Received mentoring training in toxicological risk assessment, mainly within the field of toxicological advice to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency. The emphasis was on the development of toxicological background documentation for the purpose of hazard and risk assessment of chemicals in relation to the establishment of health based quality criteria in air, soil and water. Also performed risk assessments in the area of food contact material, enzymes in food, hair dyes, new chemicals, biocides and pesticides.Worked in the technical secretariat for the EFSA Panel on food contact materials, enzymes, flavourings and processing aids (CEF), which deals with questions on the safety of use of materials in contact with food, enzymes, flavourings and processing aids. Drafted toxicological evaluation of chemically defined flavourings and participated in working groups meetings and the CEF Plenary.

Cloned and cultivated bacteria for the expression and purification of recombinant proteins. Examined the phosphoinositide binding proteins specificity for different phosphoinositides. Worked with a yeast two-hybrid system where interactions between protein domains were examined and new interaction partners were found. Amino acid residues involved in the interactions were found by mutagenesis. Prepared transgenic plants transformed with the GFP fusions to determine cellular localization. Used different bioinformatic tools.Mentored students in a bachelor and master projects in protein chemistry/molecular biology.
