I design and analyze microbiome based cohort studies to test product efficacy. Additionally, I assist in the interpretation of microbiology based assays and experimental design.

This position was funded by an NIH/NIDCR T90 Training grant.Working in the Merritt lab in the OHSU School of Dentistry, I investigate the polymicrobial nature of oral disease and host-microbiome interactions during bacterial dysbiosis. I collaborate with dental clinicians to conduct patient-centered research. I have combined computational approaches with microbiology and bacterial genetics to advance our understanding of the oral microbiome.Additionally, I serve as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer of the OHSU Postdoctoral Society, where I work to a foster a supportive atmosphere within our postdoc community, increase international postdoc support, and provide access to disability services.

During my doctoral work in the Raghavan lab, I investigated the evolution, presence, and function of bacterial small RNAs.

I conducted routine molecular and microbiology wet-lab techniques, and independently designed and implemented animal trials in murine and ovine model systems.
