The seat was also targeted by the DCCC as a potential “Red to Blue” flip in January of 2019. o Total spent in opposition just on television was more than $9 million, including: $2 million by HMP, $2.4 million by DCCC, nearly $1 million by Emily’s list, $250k by End Citizens United and roughly $3.5 million by the opposing campaign.• Led a team of four staff members and managed a budget of $5.5 million dollars over a two-year period. • Despite opposition outside funding, the incumbent candidate’s margin of victory was improved by four points (from 4% in 2018 to 7% in 2020) against a well-funded sitting state senator who received major financial support from the DCCC and House Majority PAC.• Oversaw a six-figure field program with over a dozen paid contractors and a hundred volunteers who knocked 75k doors in a highly targeted effort to reach persuadable suburban voters. • Regularly communicated with local and national press discussing the race and reinforcing the campaigns messaging strategy.• Assisted in the development and led the implementation of the first large scale absentee chase program in Missouri political history.
