Created/Developed managed a new company to work with farmers and anyone who needed assistance with regulatory issues. Interpreted Federal and state rules and regulations and assistaed clients to operate their agricultural business in compliance with the law. Provided federal and state permit consulting services and acted as a business advisor to individuals who were new to farming or who were expanding their existing businesses into unfamiliar territory. Created biosecurity plans and in some cases FEMA plans for farmers and other clients. Inspected their property and worked with the clients to reduce risk on their farms or other places of business and ensured they were adhering to all rules and regulations. This resulted in the clients knowing their righs and were better prepared in case of an emergency or a disaster.

Specialized in Agricultural Law and Natural Resources issues and provided legal and business consulting services to a wide variety of clients in Columbus, Ohio and throughout the state.•Executed a grant to educate women in agriculture. The program provided women with a solid foundation of knowledge required to operate a modern agri-business.•Prepared/Analyzed/Reviewed contracts for various companies relative to their clients on various issues. Worked with a non-profit agency to help a client who had a contractual issue with a federal forest. •Educated county officials, members of state legislature and others, on various natural resource topics. Presented seminars on various issues to help parties understand topics on all sides of the law.

Member of the rule-making development staff. Provided guidance on agricultural issues and pending agricultural legislation.•Established a new department to regulate Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations. Worked with a board to write rules and regulations; develop agricultural mediation programs; create operational plans for farms; create forms, documents, permits, bio-security plans, and all necessary documents for permit applications. The Ohio Department was able to take over the regulation and governance of a program to help reduce incidents of bio-hazardous spills. The program was one of the first to be approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency.•Pioneered a new regulatory program within the Ohio Department of Agriculture to govern CAFOs. Worked with farmers to educate them on how the system would work and streamlined the permit application process. Effectively and efficiently addressed a serious bio-hazard and gained strong compliance with the program.
