Early in my working career I realised that there are a number of things you need to do, to achieve your goals ... Firstly, you cannot get to where you want to be without the help of others. Whether that's direct mentorship or taking note of someone just doing their job.Secondly, using that advice and believing in yourself. Self belief (borderline arrogance) gives you the tools you need to put all you've learnt into practice and get to where you want to be.Thirdly, learn learn learn. Learn from everyone around you in the industry you are in. You will never know 'everything'. Continue to develop and better yourself constantly.When I left the Army in 2016, I was high in self confidence, but not necessarily the skillset required to succeed in 'civvie street'. I now work for a fantastic company called Molson Coors. A name that is lesser known, but with products that are hugely popular... Carling and Coors Light might ring a bell... During my 4 1/2 years here I have had the pleasure of being under the mentorship of some fantastic managers and learning skills from extremely experienced beer dispense engineers. Giving me a broad knowledge of the beer dispense industry. This has enabled me to climb the ladder from engineer to lead engineer, Technical Auditor and now off the road as a Team Leader. I absolutely love mentoring, managing and supporting my team. Helping them achieve the results they want to achieve.They are a fantastic bunch. Hard working, challenging at times, knowledgeable, adept at keeping me on my toes, supportive and driven to succeed. Which are all traits that fit perfectly with my natural managerial style. Although they do throw spanners in the works on a regular basis, which requires me to adapt and overcome. I finally got a degree at the ripe age of 29, I Studied BSc intelligence ano Security at Staffordshire University, achieving a first class.Thank you for taking the time to read my profile today.
