Kris Hernandez is a mechanical engineer in the aftermarket automotive space. Kris has over two decades of experience in the aftermarket suspension market. Kris started with Fabtech Motorsports in 2004 as a design engineer launching the Dirt Logic shock line and associated race shock line for marketing purposes. Kris transitioned to ICON Vehicle Dynamics in 2012 as design engineer and then became engineering manager. Kris’ highlights while at ICON were cutting time to launch new products in half, mandating 1000 mile dirt testing requirement for all new kits developed, and designed/developed/patented the ICON Delta Joint. Kris also worked closely with manufacturing to cut production times in both welding and shock assembly with improved procedures and tooling. Kris developed the first ever OEM program for ICON from start to finish as the last project before departing. Kris went onto Transamerica Automotive to run the suspension brands under the TAP umbrella developing high quality, market best suspension systems for the automotive aftermarket. While at TAP Kris also contributed to the marketing, sales and branding teams as needed to help level them up to that of the products developed under his team. Kris has brought revolutionary products, intellectual property/patents and cost cutting designs to market in a world of constantly decreasing time lines for launch, limited bandwidth, and increased consumer expectations. Suspension, manufacturing, and cutting costs are Kris’ passion and with that passion there is a wealth of real world vehicle knowledge both on and offroad, durability testing/analysis and most of all, keeping manufacturing costs in mind all the way to the goal line. Kris excels at creating cost cutting designs that exceed customer expectations in even the most boutique markets. Kris drives excellence through a no nonsense approach to all aspects of business from top to bottom. Kris is an avid outdoor enthusiast that enjoys camping, hiking, biking, prerunning and exploring.
