I have been a Korean lawyer since 1998 after completing 2 year course of JRTI. But rather than practicing law, I have been involved mostly in IT-based business in the law field.I had worked for LAWnB for 14 years, which provides Korean legal information online and law courses. I had run the company as its CEO from 2007 to 2014 and it was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2012.During the period, I could experience all the aspects of business like establishment to merger & acquisition in terms of business life cycle and product, marketing & sales, HR, and finance in terms of business function.I have been always interested in making the most of technology in legal industry.In a wider perspective, I am passionate at changing life style or improving the quality of life using technology.In 2015, I started a new startup, Text Factory Corp, which at first provided a chat-based assistant service to deal with various kinds of users'​ requests like reservation, online purchase, and deliveries through Kakaotalk and SMS. It was later pivoted as an AI-based chatbot company for commerce.Text Factory was acquired by Law & Company in Nov. 2019, which is the leading legal startup in Korea focusing mainly on online legal market place service named "Lawtalk"(lawtalk.co.kr).In addition to Lawtalk, Law & Company also provides "BigCase" (bigcase.ai), a legal information/research service using legal AI. I also joined Law & Company at that time as a director of AI Lab. and now lead AI team, creating legal ai services. My role has expanded, and I'm now the Head of Product division including AI team, responsible for all the products/services.
