Assistant Subsea Engineer
CurrentStarting off on Transoceans North Sea Swat team, i was responsible for travelling to various rigs to assist with between well phases. Jobs carried out were stripping of annulars and connectors, changing out rams, servicing riser joints and slipjoints, changing bonnets and failsafes etc, and then pressure testing the stack ready to run again.I'm now full time assistant on the SEDCO 704, a semi-sub with a conventional 15k Hydril stack. All duties include normal day to day running, pressure and function testing as required, updateing and completing computer based maintenance schedules as well as planning for between well phases.courses taken inc: IADC Fundemental Well Control, Hydril basic mux, Hydril basic hydraulics, rigging and lifting, downtime prevention, helideck firefighting, various Transocea OJT modules.
