Starting off on Transoceans North Sea Swat team, i was responsible for travelling to various rigs to assist with between well phases. Jobs carried out were stripping of annulars and connectors, changing out rams, servicing riser joints and slipjoints, changing bonnets and failsafes etc, and then pressure testing the stack ready to run again.I'm now full time assistant on the SEDCO 704, a semi-sub with a conventional 15k Hydril stack. All duties include normal day to day running, pressure and function testing as required, updateing and completing computer based maintenance schedules as well as planning for between well phases.courses taken inc: IADC Fundemental Well Control, Hydril basic mux, Hydril basic hydraulics, rigging and lifting, downtime prevention, helideck firefighting, various Transocea OJT modules.

Underwater engineer - responsible for deployment and recovery of kit. Tuning in of all kit ( pinger, boomers, sonar fish etc) Fault diagnosis and rectification should any faults arise. Carry out preventative maintenance and rectification on hydraulic winches, cranes and electro mechanical hammworthy compressors. Responsible for the stripping and rebuilding of 40 cu/in siesmic sleeve guns, and associated compressed air systems.

Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel systems.Use system diagrams to fault diagnose and rectify/replace and unserviceable components.Operate and teach others to operate gas turbine engines, safely and within strict operating parameters.Prioritise the tasking of all assets and assume responsibility for up to 20 personnel in the absence of senior management.Delivered direction to the production of risk assessments and advised on COSHH.Supervise worldwide flight line maintenance operations.Maintain, operate and replenish high pressure oxygen and nitrogen systems taking into consideration sterile environments to prevent contamination.Carry out NDT techniques on various components.

Preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel systems. Fault diagnosed the above systems using diagrams to identify then replace or repair unserviceable components.

worked as a deck hand on a trawler up to 100 miles out at sea, cooking for the crew, shooting and hauling the nets and general maintenance as it came up.
