Medication use and Drug Supply Chain ManagementResponsible for overall coordination and management of the Interior Health Drug Formulary. Serve as a clinical resource to both internal pharmacy leadership team as well as front-line staff. Develop/coordinate implementation planning for drug formulary changes as approved by BC Health Authorities Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, as well as local Interior Health Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees and Pharmacy Senior Leadership teams. Collaborate with provincial colleagues with respect to drug formulary decisions. Member of provincial formulary management committees including BC Heath Authorities Drug Review Subcommittee and BC Health Authorities Pharmacy and Therapeutics.Responsible for clinical guidance and decision making related to drug backorder management within the Heath Authority. Collaborate with purchasing teams to mitigate the impacts of drug supply chain shortages where possible. Provide clinical and operational guidance to pharmacy supervisors and front-line staff related to conservation of medications where necessary. Member of BC Health authorities provincial supply chain subcommittee.

As Chair of Medication Alerts Working group, I worked directly with Physicians, Pharmacy Leadership, and IMIT specialists within the health authority to drive the implementation of drug minimum and maximum dose alerts for providers and pharmacists at CPOE sites within the Health Authority in order to meet Accreditation Canada standards. In addition, through audit reports, identified drug-drug interactions that are a significant source of alert fatigue that could be turned off from flagging for providers and pharmacists regionally, reducing overall drug-drug interaction alerts be as much as 60%. Other responsibilities included implementation of clinical pharmacist health records documentation within a fully electronic EMR at Royal Inland Hospital, including the design of a novel pharmacist discharge summary to be used by ward based clinical pharmacists to assist in the discharge of complex patients.Finally, supported Pharmacists at Kelowna General Hospital responsible for remote pharmacy order verification overnight of CPOE orders placed at Royal Inland Hospital by creating and maintaining a manual to identify non-standard work between sites. Also provided one on one training for each staff member assigned to work overnight shifts.

Worked in a variety of clinical roles including cardiac surgery, General Medicine and emergency medicine.Lead the updating/development of several site specific pre-printed order sets, served on several local KGH and regional IH pharmacy committees, precepted entry to practice pharmacists as well as pharmacy residents
