With over 14 years of experience in the marine education industry, I am a passionate and dedicated Operations Director at Sea|mester, a leading provider of experiential education programs on sailing vessels. My core competencies include staff and vessel management, crew HR, quality control on academic classes, staff performance analysis, and yard period support. My mission is to create transformative learning experiences for students from diverse backgrounds and cultures and to foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and growth among our staff and crew. I bring a global perspective and a wealth of knowledge to the team, having sailed and taught in multiple oceans and continents.As the Operations Director, I oversee the daily operations and logistics of three sailing yachts, each with a capacity of up to 26 cadets and 7 staff. I am responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of our programs, as well as the professional development and well-being of our staff and crew. I also serve as a relief captain when needed, and lead formal academic classes in nautical science and oceanography. I have successfully managed and supported multiple transoceanic passages, including the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans. I have also developed and implemented strategic plans, policies, and procedures to enhance our operational standards, customer satisfaction, and academic outcomes. Some of my key achievements include being part of the management team that oversaw company growth, increased student capacity, executed uninterrupted international voyage itineraries, and implemented a range of new risk management policies throughout the COVID period, during a time when international travel and in-person education was struggling. I leverage my skills in project management, strategic planning, and public speaking to communicate effectively with our stakeholders, partners, and customers and to promote our vision and values.
